Schools for Health in Europe (SHE) Academy

Health, Wellbeing and Educational Achievement: Focus on Inequalities

The SHE Academy is a unique opportunity for PhD students to discuss critically research methodologies, analytical perspectives and challenges in doing research in schools as complex systems in an international learning environment, with input by leading scholars and experts from the field of school-based health promotion and education.

This is the sixth PhD course organized by the SHE Network in collaboration with different universities in Europe. This year the focus is on Health, Wellbeing and Educational Achievement: Focus on Inequalities, but there will be plenty of opportunities to discuss and to reflect about school-based health and wellbeing education and promotion in a broader sense.

The course is organized by Professor Venka Simovska, the Danish School of Education, Aarhus University, in collaboration with:

  • Monica Carlsson, Associate Professor, Danish School of Education, Aarhus University, Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Bjarne Bruun Jensen, Professor, Health Promotion, Steno Diabetes, Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Didier Jourdan, Professor, Blaise Pascal University Clermont-Ferrand, France
  • Deana Leahy, Senior Lecturer, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia
  • Marjorita Sormunen, University researcher, Department of Nursing Science, University of Eastern Finland
